Of wings and things: Super Bowl Wine

It's Super Sunday in the states. The small crowd gathering around our big screen prefers football grub on the slightly healthier side. As such, I made orzo salad with spinach and pesto, Buffalo wing meatballs and variety of dips.

I stocked up on our favorite Bear Republic Racer 5 IPA, but I like to have a wine for guests too. A dry rose is a great match for the various spices and flavors of the meal. I spotted a  new-to-me vin gris in the chilled wine section at my store and gave it a go.

It's made by Birichino and turned out to be a great discovery. Crispy, Provençal and super fragrant, it was a hit. Can't wait to try it out with grilled fish come spring.
